Rare! #s match, a/c, only few hundred made.

#s match 454 big, 4-speed with air conditioning in a convertible! Only 4,943 convertibles were made of which 50% has a/c, 14% had a 454 and 12% were 4-speeds. That brings it down to just a few hundred made total. Just 10 years after the 1 year only split window we have another 1 year only design. It has chrome bumpers in back, rubber in front. This is a very desirable investment grade Vette.

EXTERIOR: I love the color! The body really impressed me too. I did not find any cracks or damage. It's straight and fits really right. The pop-up headlights work. Repainted it's original Elkhart Green color and it's polished like glass. The front rubber bumper is excellent. The tan convertible top was upgraded with cloth, very classy. The rear chrome bumpers look new. Rolling on 15x8 rally wheels, the trim sparkles like new.

INTERIOR: Very complimentary tan interior to the green paint. Genuine leather upholstery on the seats. Very good original door panels. The dash area is very nice, not cracked or abused. Full set of factory gauges and even the factory Am-Fm stereo is in place. The console looks good, original shifter, and 454 plaque. New carpet in front along with Corvette mats.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The motor compartment is detailed to factory specs and at the heart of it is the original VIN number matching 454. It has stock manifolds, valve covers, even the complete cowl induction air cleaner system. It is detailed very nicely; all the components look fresh and proper. Features include factory air conditioning and power steering.

UNDERSIDE: It has front and rear independent suspension that looks like it's been completely rebuilt. The power steering control valve was replaced. It has disc brakes at all four wheels, the e-brake is hooked up. The factory type exhaust looks fresh and has correct square tips. Looking up at the motor it is clean. It has original Muncie 4-speed trans. The frame and floors are solid, the spare tire carrier is complete.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and spent $2,555 on service. We set the idle, repaired the speedometer, took it in for alignment and bled the brakes. We replaced the horns, distributor, lower right front control arm bushing, alternator, driver's window regulator and exhaust manifold gaskets.

It's easy to justify this toy, it's investment grade. A rare and desirable Corvette!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
