#s matching motor, trans and rear! It's had the same owner the last 22 years There's a stack of invoices from CC Corvette where the car was thoroughly maintained. I personally know Craig at CC Vette, he does a great job. After thumbing through the extensive service records I feel very confident in this car's mechanical integrity.
The legendary L72 427: This was the first year for a 427 and stuffed in this little Corvette it can deliver sensations that will certainly result in a smile and a quickened pulse. It's been described as having "great gobs of steam locomotive, earth moving torque." GM rated the hp at 425 but it's no secret the true number was even higher. I just googled Corvette's best motors of all time. The first article that popped up listed the top 10 and the 1966 427 L72 is #1!

EXTERIOR: Take a second to appreciate just how amazing the lines are on this car! The hideaway lights are a cool, unique feature. The bulged hood hints that there is something menacing underneath it. This is a great looking, driver quality car. You stand back 5 ft and it's beautiful, you inspect it up close and there's imperfections. This means you shouldn't be afraid to drive it. The body is very good, the paint is smooth and glossy. The chrome and glass is good. It has the factory sight exhaust which gives it a nice look but much more importantly it gives it an amazing sound when you're shifting through those gears. I also think the knockoff wheels are big improvement over the hubcaps and this one has radial red line tires to complete the package. It has a matching fifth tire and wheel for a spare that's ever been used. The black convertible top is in very good condition.

INTERIOR: It looks real nice overall. The seats have new cushions and upholstery, door panels are in very nice shape, carpet looks good front to back. All the factory gauges are clean and in working order even the clock. It has the correct 6,500 redline tachometer for a 425 hp. Even the glove box light works. Original AM/FM radio and chrome reverse lockout shifter.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Considered by some to be the best Corvette motor of all time! This is the original, numbers matching 427-425 horsepower engine. We have checked all the dates and casting codes. The stamp pad looks original, it has the broach marks and correct codes. It has stock manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner and ignition shielding. It even has spring clamp battery cables and GM hoses.

UNDERSIDE: It is obvious by looking at it that the front and rear independent suspension has been all apart and rebuilt. This is a factory 4 wheel disc brake car, they have been rebuilt. The e-brake is hooked up. The crimped side exhaust make a perfect growl. Looking up at the motor it's clean Chevy Orange. It has the correct canister oil filter, fuel pump and starter. The VIN number match Muncie 4-speed transmission was rebuilt the shifter was rebuilt transmission and linkage looks very fresh. The 3.36 posi rear end is properly coded and specific to a 427 only. The frame is solid, the fiberglass floors are in real good shape. The spare tire carrier is in tact.

SERVICE: We inspected this car and it passed with flying colors.

If you need some excitement in your life how about taking this car for a ride: top down, shifting those gears, hearing the roar of the pipes as you're being pushed back in the seat. It's an awesome feeling. It will also make you feel smart, it's a solid investment!
