1,500 miles on body off restoration. 12 volt upgrade.

This is a body off frame restored car. It's from a local collector known to have really nice cars. It has been upgraded to 12 volt which makes it much more practical: starts easier, lights are brighter, it has turn signals and a stereo.

EXTERIOR: All metal body and fenders it's in excellent shape. There's no rust or damage, it's straight. It fits really well, doors shut like a new car. It is repainted the original maroon, but they did add a touch of metal flake which looks really pretty. It's polished smooth and glossy. All of the chrome and stainless trim looks like new. It has the optional bumper guards front and back, wing tips on the ends of the bumpers, dual mirrors, and fender skirts. Reproduction Firestone white wall tires on painted rims. The owner is very proud of the custom-made flipper hubcaps in the front. The running boards have the correct rubber coverings, the fender weltings were replaced. The glass looks new, it has been lightly tinted. The gaskets and seals were all replaced.

INTERIOR: Sitting in the car looking around it really looks like new. Nice carpet on the floor with matching mats. The seat is rebuilt and upholstered correctly. The cloth door panels were redone. Armrests, window cranks and handles look new. All the metal trim is painted really nice. The dash is beautiful: the gauges, chrome trim, knobs, steering wheel etc. It has a modern stereo below the dash and speakers in the kick panels. It also has an aftermarket heater below the dash. The cloth headliner and visors are redone. Seat belts were added.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: I just touched the ignition button and it fired right up. It purred so smoothly, I could barely tell it was running. It looks like new also. It has the correct cloth wrapped plug wires, chrome head bolts, carburetors are rebuilt. The generator was updated with an alternator. Everything looks proper: the radiator hoses, wiring, new horns etc. The 12 volt battery has a disconnect inside the car.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It looks nice. Reproduction rubber mat, the side panels are little nicked up. It has a painted rim with a white wall for a spare. The jack is located under the floorboard.

UNDERSIDE: It looks practically new underneath. There's no rust, the floors are smooth clean metal with a satin black finish. The original frame has the VIN number that matches the title and it's also smooth clean metal. It is obvious it was all apart; the nuts and bolts look fresh throughout. Newer dual exhaust system with glass pack style mufflers and optional stainless tips.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and repaired the horns and brake lights.

I wouldn't be afraid to use this car, it functions very smoothly. Ready for show and go!
