Real 442, #s match motor and trans!
This is a real 442 built in California, verified by the vin #. Has matching vin # on engine and trans.EXTERIOR: Refinished in special order Rallye red. Yes, I know it looks orange but Olds called it red. Has correct dimension stripes. Has a genuine ram air hood with metal base, fiberglass scoops and even the "chicken wire" on the bottom. Also has original, one year only sport mirrors with the crease. Bumpers have new chrome, the back bumper has the correct cut outs for the 442 trumpet tips. New emblems and they are properly spaced out. The grills and headlight bezels are new. Chrome around the hood and front fenders is bright. Has reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires. Overall the exterior is very sharp. Convertible top is bright, looks new.
INTERIOR: Overall good, but not new either. It has bucket seats, console, deluxe wheel and rare shoulder belts in the rear.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Has clean metal with a recent spatter finish paint. Brand new trunk mat and new reproduction tire for a spare on matching wheel. Has jack.
MOTOR COMPARTMENT: It's cleaned up nicely. The engine has a clean coat of the correct blue paint. Radiator support is a smooth satin black. Brackets, brake booster, pulleys are cleaned and painted. Has Delco battery topper, new fan shroud. Has an original, functional ram air induction. Air conditioning system is complete.
UNDERSIDE: It is not polished or detailed but the metal looks original and very solid. Floors, braces, inner rockers are clean. Has vin # matched turbo 400 trans with correct OG tag. Has F-41 suspension which includes sway bars and boxed control arms. Also has 12 bolt rear end. New gas tank and starter. Motor is clean even on the bottom, painted correct blue color.
Prices have soared on 442 convertibles. Fully restored cars have been bringing $100,000 and beyond at auction. This one is a solid, well optioned car with #s matching driveline. 1970 is the most desirable year because it was the highest horsepower. It is not a perfect car, but no doubt it is very sharp and will receive many compliments!
