Very authentic, #s match garage find!
This is a #s matching dual quad, 2 top roadster. It is very authentic and complete. It is a garage find from an estate. Same owner the last 24 years where it mostly sat in the garage. When I went to buy the car it was covered in dust, had spider webs on the suspension. I was just hoping the motor would at least turn over. I was amazed at how it fired right up and ran smoothly. It turns out a nearby mechanic would come by and maintain the car for the occasional drive. This car starts almost instantly and runs as smooth as can be. Majority of the things I tried out actually worked. Under the hood appears to be authentic. Proper carbs, manifolds, air cleaners, intake and even ignition shielding. The engine stamp pad has The proper codes and #s, casting code in back of the block is also correct. The 3-speed trans (4-speed didn't come out until end of 57) is the original with proper casting #s. The clutch feels fine, trans shifts smooth. Whitewall tires have been replaced. Underneath is very well preserved. Frame looks mint, no scaley rust. Fiberglass floors are not damaged. The rear end still has original nylon straps and yellow assembly line marking. The brake lines, rear springs and shocks have been replaced. The body and paint need restoring. It has a respectable interior. It is original except for seatbelts added. Recent white convertible top. It is actually a power top, parts are there but it is disconnected and being used manually. Also has removable hardtop. There is a big demand for a good restorable early Corvettes. Parts are available, they are relatively simple cars and restoration information is readily available. It can be very rewarding when done- 1.You will have an awesome car 2.They are strong investments 3.There are many judging opportunities at several levels to participate in. This is an excellent candidate! Can't find your car?
