Knight Rider - currently off displayThis is Super Pursuit Mode KITT #3 of only 3 built. Built by Jay Orberg through Barris Kustoms, who was hired to build the Super Pursuit Mode KITT's for the Knight Rider TV series. Car #1 and #2 were screen used. Car # 1 was the special effects car. It was the one that was filmed making the transformation from the Standard Mode KITT to the Super Pursuit Mode KITT. The mechanics required to make this transformation took up so much space that the cars internal components were stripped. It did not have an engine or interior and did not run or drive. Car #2 was equipped with all the Super Pursuit Mode body modifications, but these modifications were stationary. The production company would film Car #1 transforming and then Car #2 would do all the driving scenes. Car #3 is identical to the screen used Car #2 but was never used in production. Besides the stationary Super Pursuit Mode body modifications it does feature functional flaps on the rear quarters that would fold away from the car for "extra braking power". The nose features the pulsating red light and the interior equipped with the famous KITT dash and steering wheel. Electronics can be added to further enhance the car. It is a very rare car, besides the 3 Orberg built cars, there are no known full version SPM KITT's in existence. Neither Car #1 or Car #2 exist today. If you are a fan of the Super Pursuit Mode car, this IS IT!
