Model A Snow Bird

Deluxe Snowbird conversion kit!

Now this is something you don't see every day! Whether you collect model A's, snowmobiles, tractors, or trucks this would certainly be a great conversation piece. You don't have to just look at it, it is functional and drives on pavement, dirt and of course snow. This is an item we've had on display in our museum, reluctantly it's time to let it go to make room for something different.

EXTERIOR: This is an original Model A recognizable by the cowl, hood and swing up windshield. The original radiator shell has a moto-meter radiator cap and a cover to keep the radiator warm in those cold, snowy northern states. It also has Ford script lenses in the headlights, correct wire wheels at all four corners and even an Aooga horn.

INTERIOR: Original style model A steering wheel, dash, controls, and 3-speed shifter. The bench seat accommodates 2 people. We thought of adding more seats or leave it as a work horse for hauling things.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Excellent running original four-cylinder Model A engine. It fires right up and runs smoothly; we just rebuilt the carb. It has a manifold heater.

UNDERSIDE: The Snowbird kit was the top of the line. Up front the skis could float just higher than the ground so it can be driven on hard ground. With the pull of a lever the tires can be lifted up out of the way, so they don't drag in the deep snow. This one has the optional 15 inch wide tracks that are run off a sprocket tire. It also uses 2 additional idler wheels.

It's a fun vehicle for any type of collection. It is a good time taking it over most types of terrain. It can also make an interesting display. This is what people dealt with almost 100 years ago, remember roads were nothing like they are today!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
