First Production Snowmobile, Available Originally at Ford Dealerships
1923 Snowflyer, considered one of the first patented snowmobiles. It was designed by Virgil White in New Hampshire. This is one of only 75 Ford Snowflyers produced in 1923. The cost was $750. Most people could not afford them. They were sold mostly to Doctors and Mail Carriers. They claimed to be able to go 18 MPH thru 30" of snow.
