Journey Through Time on Antique Kiddie Rides

The Volo Museum has the world's largest public display of vintage kiddie rides. The imaginative marvels in designs like horses, race cars, speed boats and rockets were major attractions in the 50s. Over 20 manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon to create these coin-operated machines.

There aren't many manufacturers creating kiddie rides today, partly due to the machines' need for maintenance and lack of reliability. Our collection includes kiddie rides from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Most of them are available to ride when you visit our museum for kids. Some rides, like our Speed Queen boat, were actually designed for teenagers.

Fun and Games in One Place

Some of our kiddie rides also feature games. For example, if you've ever wondered where the cowboy and Indian craze started, you'll want to check out our Indian Scout ride. It's a ride and game, all-in-one. Riders can shoot at targets while pretending to gallop through the Wild West on horseback. Have fun exploring all the fascinating rides and games in our collection.
