The 1938 Buick special was an excellent family car with an affordable price and a wonderful ride. The Buick line for 1938 consisted of the adoption of coil springs for its rear suspension along with availability of a semi-auto transmission for the model 40. Styling changes were minor from the 1937; the front line of the grill was now nearly vertical which allowed for a longer hood, the graceful form of the headlights was mirrored in the parking lights and front bumper guards were taller, location of the battery was a welcome change under the hood. This car is ready for cruise night and family trips. It was restored 8 years ago with recent paint, grey mohair interior, wide whitewalls, and recently tuned engine.
